Dear Friends,

I am happy to greet you ahead of the fifth European Universities Games in Belgrade, Serbia!

On behalf of the whole EUSA community, I would like to extend a warm greeting to all student-athletes preparing for this prestigious event. The Games are a wonderful occasion to be together and experience the beauty of sport while also giving an opportunity to so many sport lovers to showcase their talent while sharing the values of fair play, equal opportunities, sportsmanship and education, promoted by EUSA.

The 2020 European Universities Games involves 21 sports competitions, which makes it possible for many student-athletes to get to know each other and challenge their skills in a friendly atmosphere. During such events we do more than just sport – we broaden our horizons, get to know other cultures, promote a healthy mind in a healthy body and make life-long friends.

Being an organiser of such an event is challenging but rewarding. I know it’s a hard task, and I want to express my appreciation to the Organising Committee and its partners for all their efforts in putting together this competition. And of course, my gratitude to the authorities for their auspices of this event.

I believe the fifth edition of the European Universities Games will bring the participants positive experiences and good results. I am sure that all the athletes will compete in good spirit and with fair play in mind, respecting the rules and their opponents and pleasing the spectators with their performance.

I hope you will enjoy your stay, your achievements and your time spent in Belgrade, and I look forward to seeing you all there!
