Dear student-athletes who everyday fight in both sport and academic field, happy International day of University sport. Maybe you knew, or you hear this for the first time, but September 20 in UNESCO calendar is celebrated as the International Day of University Sport.
Great honor for the entire world of University sport across the planet was first start in 2016 as the day became the part of UNESCO calendar.
On every September 20, five continents unite to celebrate this special day and it is great to be the part of the family. Last year 97 countries organized activites and the winner was Hungary with 160 different activities with more than 180 000 participants.
We hope that number of participants and countries that take part in the celebration of the #IDUS will increase after the fifth European Universities Games and that the event will be the turning point in all aspects of University sport development.
