EUSA President Mr Adam Roczek had a working visit to Belgrade in recent days, taking part as a lecturer at an international scientific conference held on the occasion of the 81st birthday at the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education. A guest from Poland presented “changes and trends in university sports”,  extending the celebration of the oldest sports educational institution in our country, during which awards were given to the best students and all those who contributed to the quality work of the faculty.

Together with EUG 2020 Director Predrag Juskovic, President Rocek visited the Belgrade City Hall, where they were received by Deputy Mayor Goran Vesic.

The EUSA chairman also visited the premises of the EUG 2020 at the Sava Center to find out more about the human and organizational capacity of the 5th European Universities Games, as well as the current volunteer registration campaign, which has reached the number of 1,000 applicants.

On the topic of the Rector’s Conference in Belgrade, as well as further cooperation of EUSA with Belgrade University, a meeting was also held with Rector Mrs Ivanka Popovic.

Rocek, together with EUG 2020 representatives, visited the Stark Arena in Belgrade, where he attended a Euroleague basketball match between Red Star and Baskonia. On this occasion, he once again became convinced of the qualities of the prestigious multifunctional venue in which EUG 2020 will take place, but also held opening and closing ceremonies of the one of the biggest sports event in the upcoming years with more than 5,000 athletes from 400 universities from 40 countries.

From July 12 to 25, athletes from all over Europe will compete in 21 sports, including para judo and para table tennis.

The EUSA chairman also visited Faculty of Sport and the Rectorate of the University of Novi Sad. On that occasion, the President of EUSA and the representatives of EUG 2020 also had a meeting with the President of the University Sports Federation of Serbia, PhD Dejan Madic.
