Representatives of International University Sports Federation (FISU) and European University Sports Association (EUSA) organized together a seminar in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia. This event, organized together by the two organizations for the first time, proven a strong connection between FISU and EUSA. Representatives of our country and the region were USSS Secretary General - Mr. Dušan Aleksić, EUG 2020 International Relations manager – Ms. Anita Dobre, and EUG 2020 International Relations Projects Associate – Mr. Denis Slatina.
During the first day a round table about the legacy of University Sports events was held, raising a discussion about the impact that the events can have to host cities.
Day after participants presented and discussed the financing opportunities for University sport. FISU and EUSA development programs were also presented. Ideas of non-financial support services also emerged.
Also, two separate workshops were held in Kranjska Gora. Participants had the choice to listen presentations about volunteering and social responsibility through sport. Everyone who attended the seminar were also taking part in the BeActive activities, campaign organized by the European Commission. Attendees spent the afternoon playing basketball and volleyball in the local gymnasium.
Final day was reserved to a panel discussion focused on managing University sport events. Last, but not the least, new EUSA office in Ljubljana was officially opened.
