A two-day meeting of the EUSA Supervision Commission dedicated to the organization of the 5th European Universities Games was held in Belgrade during Sunday and Monday. Beside the SVC Chairman and EUSA Vice President Mr Kemal Tamer, a meeting that was presenting overall progress since the last November’s supervision was attended also by EUSA Executive Committee Member Mr Milan Zvan, EUSA Vice President Mr Haris Pavletic, EUSA Secretary General Mr Matjaz Pecovnik, EUSA Sports Manager Mr Besim Aliti, EUSA Education Manager Ms Sara Rozman and Communication and Project Manager Mr Andrej Pisl.
EUG 2020 Director Mr Predrag Juskovic, Deputy Director Ms Anita Dobre and Project Manager Mr Dragan Atanasov have presented what has been done at the level of the company, and the Heads of all departments were showing progress since the last November, as well as what is being planned to make these Universities Games the ’’best one so far’’.
In front of the Executive Board, Mr Darko Glavas also attended this meeting, expressing satisfaction with work progress:
- The city of Belgrade and the Republic of Serbia have proven themselves as successful organizers of the biggest sporting events for many times. I am convinced that it will be the same this summer, and taht all guests of our capital will bring the best impressions with them, Glavas concluded.
In addition to the presentations, two-day meeting participants have also made an inspection visit to the Student City – dormitory, wich will be the sports village during the Games. They could be convinced that reconstruction of the accommodation buildings are proceeding as planned.
The Supervision Commission Chairman, Mr Kemal Tamer, expressed satisfaction with presented:
- Compared to previous EUSA Supervision Commission in November, a major improvement has been made in all departments. The conclusion of the Commission is that all the activities are according to a plan. All departmens, from sport, accommodation, medicine, transportation, security, international relations, IT, volunteers, marketing, PR, protocols, media are already prepared for the Games. It remains only the final phase of the Games organization, which we at EUSA hope and believe will be the best so far, Mr Tamer concluded.
