Second day of EUSA Supervision Commission stay in Serbia visit of student dormitory “Studentski grad” at Novi Beograd that will host all athletes during fifth European Universities Games was organized. In EUSA delegation there were Mr Kemal Tamer, EUSA Vice-president and Supervision Commission Chair, Mr. Milan Žvan, EUSA EC member and Supervision Commission member, Mr. Matjaž Pečovnik EUSA Secretary General, Mr. Besim Aliti EUSA Sports Manager and Ms. Sara Rozman Education and Development Manager accompanied by EUG 2020 representatives, lead by OC Director Mr. Predrag Jušković and EUG 2020 partners – University of Belgrade, with rector Ms. Ivanka Popović and USSS represented by Mr. Dejan Madić, as well as “Studentski grad” management lead by General Director Mr. Goran Minić. Together, they visited the dormitory and restaurant in “Studentski grad”.
Firstly, they visited Cultural centre of “Studentski grad” where the accreditation center will be during EUG and where EUSA and EUG 2020 technical meetings will be held.
EUSA representatives then visited the accommodation along with Accommodation Assistant Manager Ms. Dragana Vujačić and Dormitory 1 Manager Ms. Biljana Anđić. They were shown double and triple bedrooms and how will they look when athletes arrive. During Dormitory 1 visited the reading room that will be turned into offices for reading and other activites, as well as student infirmary and sports hall that will be available for all participants.
It is interesting to point out that lunch was served in the cantina according to EUSA EUG standards and our guests tried different meals. Guests from EUSA along with their hosts tried different meals that will on the menu at the EUG 2020.
Nutrition Manager Assistant of “Studentski grad”, Mr. Srđan Janković proudly told EUSA representatives that this cantina is the biggest in the Balkans with the capacity of 800 people and that it daily serves between 5 and 10 thousand meals.
EUSA delegation also had the opportunity to enjoy nice weather in the dormitory surrounding where a great number of cultural entertainment manifestations and promotional activities will take place during fifth European Universities Games.
EUSA delegation leaves Belgrade with positive impressions, and for them the most important thing was the fact that “Studentski grad” dormitory has the capacity and infrastructure to satisfy EUSA standards.
